Year in Pixels started as a small personal experiment: a way for me to learn how to build products as
a designer, and also a space to make sense of my own days. I honestly didn't expect anyone to use
it. I built it for myself first, then shared it with a few people just to test it.
But something surprising happened: people connected with it.
Just one month in, there are almost 70 active users. I'm still processing that. I'm grateful for
every single person who takes a moment out of their day to log something here.
Where things are now

Since this began as a personal project, I'm still running everything on free tools (hosting, storage,
images, email, etc). As the app grows, those free limits will run out, and I'll need to start
covering the costs to keep things running smoothly.
And realistically, journaling apps shine more as native mobile apps — better notifications, offline
use, less friction. I'd love to bring Year in Pixels to the App Store and Play Store, but that takes
time and funding too.
Going forward
I want Year in Pixels to stay free, without ads, tracking, or paywalls. But with how fast things are
growing, I may not be able to handle all the costs alone — and I don't want to slow things down just
when the community is beginning to form.
How you can help
If Year in Pixels has added something small to your days, you can support the project and help keep
it running.
Using the app is support too. But if you're able and willing to help, it truly makes a difference.
